Wedding Season (July 2014)
We just love weddings and our South African summers make for stunning wedding pictures. We are spoilt for choice from awesome venues, beautiful lush gardens, thunderstorm skies, and last but not least lovely brides.
A few Wedding tips for brides
When it comes to getting that picture perfect look, foundation is essential. Get one that is skin tone correct and fix with a pressed powder to help control shine.
Ask one of your brides maids to keep the powder close at hand for a quick touch up before your couple shoot.
Neutral lip colours can look washed out in photographs…..go for a shade one or two shades brighter than your natural lip colour.
Also keep your lipstick or gloss close by for touch ups.
Make sure you use a water-resistant liner and mascara that can withstand tears of joy.
Don’t under estimate the importance of the fragrance you choose for your big day. It will evoke happy memories for years to come every time you smell it. Keep it delicate, romantic and floral.
Spend much time on deciding on the right photographer and make sure that the photographer’s style fits in with the overall theme and vision for the wedding. Wedding photographers need to be true professionals with an understanding of everything that has to come together on the day.
Look at the online and printed portfolios of the photographer and ask to see images of a complete wedding from beginning to end. This will give you an idea of what to expect of all your images.
Have an E-shoot before the wedding. You will become comfortable in front of the camera and learn to trust the photographer to make you look the best on your big day. These images could also be used for reserve-the-date messages and thank-you cards.
On the day:
It is worth timing the wedding at such a time that you could utilise the “good” light for your photographs. Ask your photographer to advise you.
Make a list of all the group photographs you would like. Assign the responsibility to get the groups together to one of your bridesmaids or groomsmen who knows everyone. It is advisable to get the group photos out of the way as quickly as possible so most of the time could be spent on your wedding portraits.
